After about a week of illness, spontaneous improvement occurs. Mild symptoms can last up to 3 weeks. What symptoms can occur and how to deal with it - suggests doctor Marcin Roszkowski from NZOZ Tw\u00f3j Lekarz.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Symptoms:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They grow slowly<\/li>\n<li>runny nose \/ blocked nose \/ sneezing<\/li>\n<li>mild sore throat<\/li>\n<li>weak cough<\/li>\n<li>elevated temperature<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nHow to deal with a cold?<\/strong><br \/>\nRest and sleep, stay warm, drink plenty of fluids at room temperature.<br \/>\nPharmacy preparations do not cure the condition, but they alleviate symptoms and provide temporary relief.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Relief of rhinitis (Nasivin, Otrivin etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Sore throat relief (lozenges, sprays, rinses)<\/li>\n<li>Paracetamol or ibuprofen if the body temperature reaches 38.5 degrees or as an analgesic (Fervex, Gripex and other &quot;Hot&quot; preparations also have an antipyretic effect and reduce the feeling of illness)<\/li>\n<li>Antitussive (Acodin, Thiocodin, Levopront), thinning of secretions (ACC Optma, Flegamina, Pectodrill)<\/li>\n<li>There is no convincing evidence that vitamin C, zinc, echinacea and garlic preparations are effective in treating or preventing<br \/>\ncold<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Insulation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We infect others by coughing, sneezing, or transferring germs from our noses and mouths to objects. The virus can live on a doorknob for up to 24 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Wash your hands more often with warm water and soap, dry them with a disposable towel<\/li>\n<li>Cover your mouth when coughing or your nose when sneezing with disposable tissues.<\/li>\n<li>Do not reuse wipes, throw them in the trash<\/li>\n<li>Air the rooms you are in often<\/li>\n<li>Do not touch your face with your hands - eyes, mouth, nose are the gateways for infection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>When you need to see a doctor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The symptoms do not go away for a long time<\/li>\n<li>Symptoms are rapidly increasing<\/li>\n<li>You have a high fever (over 39 degrees Celsius) or your temperature does not go down with antipyretic medication<\/li>\n<li>Difficulty breathing (you experience shortness of breath, shortness of breath), you feel chest pain<\/li>\n<li>You have diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, kidney disease, neurological disease, chemotherapy, AIDS<\/li>\n<li>There is a stiff neck, severe headache, double vision, vomiting for more than one day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Doctors do not prescribe antibiotics to treat colds because they do not relieve symptoms or speed up recovery.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>recovery. Antibiotics are only effective against bacterial infections.
