The waiting room of the Kobierzyce Clinic was transformed into a lecture hall on Thursday, February 27! All for the needs of an educational campaign conducted together with the Kolorowe Dni Foundation. The classes "Diabetes without secrets" were led by Bartosz Zawadzki, a doctor and volunteer of the Foundation. The participants of the meeting learned, among other things, about the causes of the disease, the characteristic symptom of which is an increased level of glucose in the blood.

Long-term high blood sugar levels damage many organs, including the heart and blood vessels, kidneys, nerves, and eyes. According to the World Health Organization, diabetes is one of the most common chronic diseases. Over 400 million people worldwide suffer from it. In Poland, around 3 million patients struggle with diabetes.

An important element of the presentation was the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. Experts emphasize that obesity and lack of exercise can increase the risk of diabetes by as much as 80 percent.
