A new list of reimbursed medicines has been in force since September. For the first time, it includes free medicines for pregnant women. The list currently includes 114 medicines, most frequently used by pregnant women. The list will be supplemented with more items.

A prescription for reimbursed medicines (marked as "C" medicines) may be issued by a doctor who has a contract with the National Health Fund or another doctor - on the basis of a certificate confirming pregnancy.

Free medicines will be available to women from the moment they are diagnosed with pregnancy until 15 days after the expected date of delivery. Pregnancy must be confirmed by a doctor (specialist in obstetrics and gynecology or in the process of specializing in this), a primary care midwife or an obstetrics and gynecology clinic.

The list of free medicines is available on pages 1671–1674: Announcements of the Minister of Health of 24 August 2020 on the list of reimbursed medicines, foodstuffs for particular nutritional uses and medical devices
