The birth of a child and the first months of its life are a special time for every family. Closeness, building bonds and learning new behaviors require peace and security. In such moments, the family needs special support, advice and care. This applies to matters related to the care of the newborn, as well as its health and proper development. It is precisely in the care of the youngest Patients and their Parents in NZOZ Your Doctor was created EARLY CHILD CARE TEAM.

A midwife and a pediatrician are members TEAM, who are the first to take care of newborn babies. As part of the contact with National Health Fund as a facility PRIMARY HEALTH CARE the clinic provides:

  • patronage of the midwife in the first days of the child's life
  • medical patronage before the first vaccination
  • first vaccination after completing 6 weeks of age and subsequent vaccinations according to the mandatory vaccination schedule
  • a visit from a community nurse after the age of 3 months

If a pediatrician or midwife sees indications for additional diagnostics, they help determine the order of necessary visits to specialist clinics. This applies not only to consultations reimbursed by the National Health Fund, but also to commercial services.

What do specialists do? EARLY CHILD CARE TEAM?

  • lactation consultant – takes care of proper breastfeeding
  • an early childhood physiotherapist assesses and corrects the child's motor development
  • an orthopedist from the preluxation clinic – checks whether the child's hip joints are positioned correctly
  • otolaryngologist – assesses the tongue frenulum and, if necessary, cuts it
  • speech therapist – checks whether the child has a correct sucking reflex and ensures proper development of the speech apparatus
  • babywearing instructor – teaches how to combine close contact with the baby with the comfort of carrying
  • Shantala massage instructor – teaches a technique that relaxes and calms the baby, helping to cope with colic
