YOUR DOCTOR ADVISES - STOP LYME DISEASE!

We are starting another series of the medical podcast WHAT DOES YOUR DOCTOR SAY?. In the upcoming episodes, an extremely important topic that affects more and more Poles. Tick-borne diseases pose a serious threat, especially for people who enjoy outdoor activities. As data from the National Institute of Public Health shows, the number of cases is growing year by year.

In subsequent installments of the series, our experts will discuss the diagnosis and treatment of tick-borne diseases, paying particular attention to practical advice and tips on Lyme disease that everyone should take to heart. In the first episode, family medicine specialist Dr. Marcin Roszkowski provides a basic overview of how to deal with a tick bite. 

  • What diseases do ticks carry and why are they so dangerous?
  • How to remove a tick properly and safely?
  • What is erythema migrans and what steps should we take when it appears?
  • How to effectively protect yourself against ticks and what to avoid to avoid being bitten by them?

The new podcast series is part of the implementation Health policy program in the field of prevention of tick-borne diseases (Lyme disease) for the years 2023-2025 for the residents of Wrocław County. The Wrocław County Initiative aims to increase KNOWLEDGE about Lyme disease, especially among high-risk groups such as forest workers, farmers and hunters. As part of the program, program participants can benefit from free diagnostic and therapeutic consultations and diagnostic tests for Lyme disease.
