The world is vaccinating against SARS-CoV2. Experts emphasize that universal vaccination is the only way to stop the virus, save thousands of human lives, and return to normal social and economic life. Vaccinations arouse great interest, which is why we systematically answer the most frequently asked questions by our Patients.
When will we be vaccinated and what are the criteria for qualifying to receive the vaccine at a specific date?
The answer to this question depends on the age of the Patients and their affiliation to the groups listed in the National Vaccination Program. The preparation is administered in the following order:
Currently, in stage “zero” the healthcare workers are being vaccinated, i.e. employees of:
- nodal hospitals,
- entities performing medical activities, including sanitary and epidemiological stations,
- Social Welfare Homes and employees of Municipal Social Welfare Centres,
- pharmacies, pharmacy points, medical product supply points, pharmaceutical wholesalers, including companies transporting medicines,
- medical universities (including medical students).
The “zero” group also includes:
- non-medical staff working in the above-mentioned entities, i.e. administrative and auxiliary staff – regardless of the form of employment (including volunteers and interns),
- employees of companies cooperating with a medical entity who permanently reside in that entity,
- parents of premature babies.
In the next stages the following people will be vaccinated:
stage 1: residents of social welfare homes and care and treatment facilities, nursing and care facilities and other places of stationary stay, seniors – persons over 60 years of age in order from the oldest, uniformed services, including the Polish Army, teachers;
stage 2: persons under 60 years of age with chronic diseases that increase the risk of severe COVID-19, or during diagnosis and treatment requiring repeated or continuous contact with health care facilities, persons directly ensuring the functioning of the basic activities of the state and exposed to infection due to frequent social contacts;
stage 3: entrepreneurs and employees of closed sectors under regulations on the establishment of certain restrictions, orders and prohibitions in connection with the occurrence of an epidemic. General vaccination of the remaining part of the adult population will also be carried out.
