TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT THERAPY AT NZOZ YOUR DOCTOR

Jaw pain, involuntary teeth clenching, morning tension in the temples, or the characteristic "clicking" sound when yawning. Many patients consider these symptoms to be minor inconveniences. However, over time, minor symptoms can develop into problems that interfere with eating, working, sleeping, and normal functioning. That's why the NZOZ Your Doctor Rehabilitation Center is offering a new, specialized commercial service: temporomandibular joint (TMJ) therapy.

WHEN YOUR JOINT STARTS TALKING LOUDER THAN YOU THINK

Temporomandibular joint disorders rarely appear out of the blue. They often accompany stress, prolonged computer use, jaw clenching, or untreated malocclusion. The body sends signals that are easily overlooked: subtle headaches, a stiff neck, or a feeling of facial fatigue.

Well-conducted therapy can break this chain of tension. Many patients begin to understand just how overloaded their joints were after their first visit. They are surprised at how quickly their body responds to the right stimulus.

WHAT IS TMJ THERAPY?

This is a specialized form of dental physiotherapy that includes:

  • manual therapy and soft tissue work,
  • joint mobilizations,
  • osteopathic techniques,
  • kinesiotaping,
  • individually selected exercises.

The goal is to reduce pain, reduce muscle tension, and improve joint mobility. It provides relief for people with headaches, joint spasms, limited mouth opening, and chronic teeth clenching.

LEADING SPECIALIST – JOANNA BARTOSIK

Temporomandibular joint therapy at our studio is led by Joanna Bartosik, a physiotherapist who has been working with patients with tension disorders in the face, neck, and head for years. Her approach combines clinical knowledge with a keen understanding of tissue mechanics, allowing her to accurately identify the causes of pain and effectively address them.

03/06/2026 | How to take care of your health while traveling?

Dariusz Litera's conversation with Dr. Marcin Roszkowski, a family medicine specialist, offers practical tips on preparing a travel first aid kit, taking your child to summer camp, motion sickness, and traveler's diarrhea. The expert emphasizes both the safety of pharmacotherapy and the sensible use of medical care while on vacation.

Coordinated primary care for children. What does this mean in practice?

Children's Day is the perfect time to reflect not only on the joy of the little ones, but also on their health and sense of security. Many parents experience situations where a child needs regular checkups, further tests, or specialist consultations, and the entire treatment organization falls on the family. It's important to remember the results, visits, recommendations, and next steps.
