By the end of the year, 500 residents of the Kobierzyce Commune will have undergone a series of consultations and rehabilitation treatments financed by the local government. The program has been underway since August. Health policy program for the therapeutic rehabilitation of residents of the Kobierzyce Commune for 2026–2029, which generated enormous interest among residents. Health education is an integral part of it. Rehabilitation doesn't end with the final treatment. The way we move, rest, and care for ourselves daily is crucial to maintaining fitness. Program participants receive not only access to treatments but also practical knowledge they can use every day.
The program is aimed at residents of the Kobierzyce Commune who are 50 years of age or older. In 2026, services will be provided by the NZOZ Twój Lekarz Rehabilitation Center in Kobierzyce. The program is funded by the Kobierzyce Commune with financial support from the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
Knowledge that stays for a long time
Rehabilitation treatments are designed to help participants improve their fitness and return to daily activities. However, the program goes a step further. It also includes education on the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders. The goal is to ensure that the knowledge gained during the program can continue to serve residents well into their lives.
The educational materials prepared for participants focus on simple, everyday habits. They remind participants about the importance of regular physical activity, muscle strengthening and stretching, ergonomics when working at a computer, and the proper way to lift heavy objects.
This is an important element of a holistic approach to rehabilitation: it's not just about the time spent in the studio. What we do between visits and after treatments is equally important. The program materials also emphasize reducing stress and muscle tension, diet, and proper hydration.
Exercise as an element of daily health care
One of the program's most important educational messages is the encouragement of movement. Materials prepared for participants emphasize the importance of regular activity, as well as strengthening and stretching exercises. Walking can be a valuable form of exercise, but it's worth supplementing it with exercises that engage muscles and promote fitness.
This approach accurately reflects the entire program's thrust: rehabilitation should not only help individuals regain mobility but also encourage conscious, daily care. This is why education is not an adjunct to treatment, but an essential element of the program.
Health 50+ through the eyes of specialists
The second educational pillar is a special podcast series WHAT DOES YOUR DOCTOR SAY – HEALTH 50+. It collects interviews with experts representing various fields of medicine: orthopedics, cardiology, ophthalmology, diabetology, dietetics, and psychiatry.
Thanks to this, the health of people over 50 is not limited solely to the musculoskeletal system. Experts help us better understand the various needs of the body and demonstrate why it's important to consider health and daily well-being in a comprehensive way. This series was developed as an educational component supporting the Medical Rehabilitation Program for residents of the Kobierzyce Commune.

Great interest in the program among the residents of the Kobierzyce Commune
The need for such initiatives is clearly evident. In less than a month since registration began for the NZOZ Twój Lekarz Rehabilitation Center, over 500 residents have signed up. Interest has been so high that the waiting list is now full. However, this doesn't prevent access to an important element of the program, which can be used by a much wider group of residents: reliable knowledge about health and fitness. Educational materials and expert interviews are provided to encourage the development of good habits regardless of participation in the treatments themselves.
Take care of your fitness not only during rehabilitation
Movement, proper daily activities, exercise, reducing stress, a good diet, and hydration. Experts emphasize that maintaining fitness involves many small decisions made every day.
Therefore, it's worth treating the educational portion of the program as an invitation to consciously take care of yourself, even after the age of 50. Simply listen to the experts, access the prepared materials, and choose the tips you can incorporate into your own daily routine.
