Celebrated on March 18 European Day of the Brain, is a great opportunity to emphasize the importance of research on this extraordinary organ, which is the center of our consciousness, thoughts and emotions. The human brain, made up of about one hundred billion neurons, remains a subject of fascination and intensive research around the world. Advances in neurology and neurobiology allow us to better understand how our brain functions, how neuronal processes affect our behavior, and how to deal with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's or Parkinson's.

In recent years, scientists have focused on understanding the plasticity of the brain, or the ability to change and adapt in response to experience and learning. This plasticity is the basis for developing new therapeutic methods that can help in rehabilitation after brain injuries or strokes. Research in the field of neuropsychology also shows how important the environment in which we live is for brain health, and how factors such as stress, diet and physical activity affect our cognitive functions. Brain Day is also a reminder of the importance education and promotion of mental health

Actively taking care of your brain is key to maintaining good mental and physical health at every stage of life. Are you observing disturbing symptoms? Don't hesitate to use advice from specialists.

Experts emphasize that regular physical activity, a healthy diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamins, as well as maintaining intellectual activity by learning new skills, reading books or solving puzzles, have a direct impact on brain health. It is also important to take care of healthy sleep, which plays a key role in regenerative processes and memory consolidation. Active care for the brain is an investment in health for many years!
