A pulmonologist is a lung disease specialist. He deals with the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory system diseases.

Signs that indicate the need for consultation include:

getting tired quickly and having trouble catching your breath even with little effort;
dyspnoea,
wheezing,
cough
blood in sputum
recurring lung and bronchial infections
rapid or slow, shallow or deep breathing
lung injuries resulting from chest injuries;
