Diagnosis and intervention by a speech therapist include:

  • physiological basis: structure and efficiency of the speech apparatus, course of biological functions such as breathing, resting position of the lips, jaw and tongue, swallowing and chewing, occlusion
  • myofunctional diagnosis and indicative hearing test
  • cognitive and socio-emotional base, i.e. the child's competence to communicate consciously and effectively with the environment
  • assessment of speech development and speech defects resulting from disorders in the physiological and psychomotor areas.
