EMG TEST AVAILABLE ON THE NZOZ YOUR DOCTOR NETWORK!

Patients at NZOZ Twój Lekarz can now use EMG (electromyography). This diagnostic method is recommended for people struggling with unexplained nerve and muscle ailments. Imagine a situation where you've been experiencing numbness in your hand or tingling in your leg for months, and no one can pinpoint the source of your discomfort. It's precisely in these moments that EMG can become a key diagnostic tool. The tests are performed by neurology specialist Dr. Beata Wilczek-Paradowska. The EMG laboratory is open at the clinic in Bielany Wrocławskie, Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

WHAT IS EMG AND HOW CAN IT HELP YOU?

Electromyography (EMG) is a test that allows you to check how your muscles are working and whether your nerves are transmitting signals properly. This can help determine the cause of symptoms such as numbness, weakness, pain, or tingling. During the test, the doctor uses thin electrodes and short electrical impulses to accurately assess the functioning of the neuromuscular system. EMG can often make a diagnosis where other tests have revealed nothing alarming.

WHEN DO SPECIALISTS REFER FOR EMG?

If you struggle with recurring numbness in your hands, difficulty gripping objects, or chronic pain after an injury, an EMG can pinpoint the exact cause. The test is used to diagnose neuropathy, compression syndromes like carpal tunnel syndrome, muscle disorders, or nerve damage after accidents. Importantly, an EMG requires no special preparation. Simply avoid using any creams or lotions on your skin on the day of your appointment. The entire procedure typically takes 20 to 60 minutes.

HOW TO USE EMG TESTS AT YOUR DOCTOR'S NZOZ?

We welcome patients aged 18 and over for EMG. The test is covered by the National Health Fund (NFZ), provided you have a referral from our specialists. Commercial EMG is also available, according to the price list available on our website. https://twojlekarz.net/cennik/ Thanks to EMG, many patients learn for the first time what is really behind their symptoms.
