Worldwide, this disease kills 4 million people a year. Although it is deadly, it does not seem to cause much fear, and certainly does not cause panic reactions. Maybe it should. We are talking about diabetes, which is one of the most dangerous diseases of civilization.

According to the World Health Organization, more than 450 million people struggle with it. Most of them are type 2 diabetes related to an unhealthy lifestyle – that is, an unhealthy diet leading to overweight and obesity, and lack of physical activity. Health and life are the highest price here, but not the only one. In the US alone, the cost of medical care for people with diabetes is almost 330 billion dollars per year.

Are we all at risk for diabetes? How can we prevent this disease? What are the latest treatments for prediabetes? Answers to these questions in the next episodes of the medical podcast WHAT DOES YOUR DOCTOR SAY?. The guest of the program on Wednesdays, March 8, 15 and 22 will be a diabetologist, Dr. Jacek Bogdal
