STRENGTHENING THE SURGICAL CLINIC OF NZOZ YOUR DOCTOR

The Surgical Clinic NZOZ Twój Lekarz team has gained a new specialist and a new range of services. Dr. Łukasz Wajs has joined the group of doctors, who in his work at the clinic combines knowledge in the field of general surgery with modern methods of bariatric surgery, treatment of varicose veins with sclerotherapy and care for patients with difficult-to-heal wounds.

The NZOZ Your Doctor Surgery Clinic has specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid and parathyroid diseases for years. As part of its endocrine surgery, it offers thyroid and parathyroid ultrasound, fine-needle biopsy of nodular lesions, and comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care.

The clinic offers both specialist consultations and minor outpatient procedures, such as skin lesion removal (with optional histopathological examination), dressing changes, and evaluation for planned surgery. Services are available under contract with the National Health Fund (NFZ) and for a fee.

THE MOST COMMON INDICATIONS FOR VISITS TO THE SURGICAL CLINIC NZOZ YOUR DOCTOR

It is worth seeing a surgeon when symptoms are chronic, recurring or cause concern. Here are the situations in which you should not delay a visit:

  • Skin lesions – e.g., sebaceous cysts, warts, lipomas, cysts. If they change shape, enlarge, or cause discomfort, it's worth consulting a doctor and possibly removing them.
  • Thyroid or parathyroid abnormalities – nodules, enlargement of the gland, or difficulty swallowing – should be evaluated by a specialist.
  • Varicose veins of the lower limbs – manifested by pain, a feeling of heaviness in the legs, and visible thickening of the veins.
  • Wounds that are difficult to heal – especially in people with diabetes or circulatory disorders.
  • Obesity resistant to conservative treatment – in such cases, surgical treatment (bariatric surgery) may be considered.
  • Preparing for surgery – the surgeon will assess your overall health and help you plan your further treatment.
  • Foot problems – such as ingrown toenails, calluses, and recurring corns – may require surgical intervention.

WHY YOU SHOULD NOT DELAY VISITING A SURGEON?

  • Lower risk of complications – elective procedures are safer and less burdensome.
  • Shorter hospitalization – smaller scope of surgery means faster recovery.
  • Better oncological prognosis – quick diagnosis means a greater chance of effective treatment.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR VISIT?

  • Take your test results (ultrasound, X-ray, CT, MRI, laboratory analyses).
  • Write down any medications you are taking, any allergies, and important dates (e.g. previous surgeries).
  • Prepare a list of questions about the treatment plan, risks of surgery, and recovery time.

REMEMBER – SURGICAL CONSULTATION DOES NOT ALWAYS LEAD TO SURGERY

A visit to a surgeon is, above all, an opportunity for a thorough assessment of symptoms, a diagnosis, and a treatment plan—not always surgical. If you notice troubling symptoms, don't wait for them to "go away on their own." Schedule an appointment and take care of your health with the specialists at the NZOZ Twój Lekarz surgical clinic.

The conversation touches on a key aspect of family medicine: the physician's role in health education and collaborative planning of next steps. The program doesn't end with diagnosis. Its goal is to create an individualized health plan and provide real support to the patient in changing their lifestyle.

Multiple visits, one e-documentation. Health under control.

A visit to a new doctor often begins with a complete health history: where diagnostic tests were performed, what the results were, and what medications were prescribed. Some documents are kept at home, others at the previous facility.

The discussion focuses on the practical aspects of participating in the program – from the first step, choosing a primary care facility, through completing the questionnaire, to interpreting test results and the role of the family doctor. Particular emphasis is placed on the importance of cardiovascular disease prevention and the role of lifestyle in reducing health risks.
