In December 2020, NZOZ Your Doctor will start operating Preluxation Clinic, run by Dr. Krzysztof KlepackiThe main goal of the new Clinic is early detection and treatment of developmental hip dysplasia in newborns and infants. Delopmental Dysplasia of the Hip – DDH.

Due to the anatomical and histological structure, diagnostics in this area are based on orthopedic examination and ultrasound examination of the hip joints. The first examination should take place by the end 6 weeks of baby's life. Early detection of abnormalities in the structure of the hip joint allows for the implementation of non-invasive treatment and complete regression of changes and proper development.

Risk factors for occurrence DDH suggesting the performance of a screening ultrasound examination of the hips in infants are:

  • Positive family history
  • Female gender
  • Twin pregnancy, multiple
  • Oligohydramnios
  • Breech delivery
  • Torticollis
  • Adducted forefoot
