HEALTH PLAN FOR MOTHER AND CHILD - EDUCATION IN NZOZ YOUR DOCTOR

Are you planning motherhood? This is a special moment in every woman's life, so it is worth preparing for it properly. Our clinics join the educational campaign Health Promotion Foundation – MOTHER AND CHILD HEALTH PLAN. Together with experts, we help expectant mothers take care of their health and consciously prepare for pregnancy.

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR BODY FOR PREGNANCY? KEY STEPS

During educational activities, we emphasize how important it is to consciously prepare for motherhood. In the podcast series WHAT DOES YOUR DOCTOR SAY?, carried out by the Health Promotion Foundation, the key topics covered are:

  • What tests should you do before getting pregnant? Basic tests, such as breast ultrasound, cytology with HPV test and blood type determination, allow for early detection of potential health problems.
  • Folic acid and supplementation before pregnancy – Folic acid supplementation three months before conception reduces the risk of neural tube defects in the baby.
  • Healthy diet, physical activity and fertility – A balanced diet and exercise support the proper functioning of the body and increase the chances of getting pregnant.
  • Future Dad's Health – Sperm testing, healthy body weight and avoiding stimulants affect fertility.
  • Monitoring your ovulation cycle – Being aware of your cycle increases the effectiveness of trying to conceive.

PRENATAL TESTS – THE KEY TO A SAFE PREGNANCY

  • Genetic ultrasound and PAPP-A test – non-invasive tests to detect the risk of genetic defects.
  • Fetal DNA testing from maternal blood – genetic analysis of the fetus from the 10th week of pregnancy.
  • Free prenatal tests from the National Health Fund – financed tests, including genetic ultrasound and PAPP-A test.

HEALTH DURING PREGNANCY – HOW TO TAKE CARE OF IT?

  • Glucose Tolerance Test – Diagnosis of Gestational Diabetes.
  • Blood pressure measurement – Early detection of gestational hypertension.
  • GBS smear – Protecting your newborn from infection during delivery.
  • Vaccinations during pregnancy – Vaccinations against influenza, whooping cough and RSV support your baby’s immunity.
  • Blood type and serological conflict – Key tests for pregnancy safety.

The conversation touches on a key aspect of family medicine: the physician's role in health education and collaborative planning of next steps. The program doesn't end with diagnosis. Its goal is to create an individualized health plan and provide real support to the patient in changing their lifestyle.

Multiple visits, one e-documentation. Health under control.

A visit to a new doctor often begins with a complete health history: where diagnostic tests were performed, what the results were, and what medications were prescribed. Some documents are kept at home, others at the previous facility.

The discussion focuses on the practical aspects of participating in the program – from the first step, choosing a primary care facility, through completing the questionnaire, to interpreting test results and the role of the family doctor. Particular emphasis is placed on the importance of cardiovascular disease prevention and the role of lifestyle in reducing health risks.
